Fifth Harmony Normani Kordei dazzles on Monday Night’s “DWTS”, called a “superstar” by Carrie Ann

ABC/Craig SjodinFifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei is shaping up to be one of the breakouts of this season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.  Monday night, she tied for the highest score of the night with football star Rashad Jennings — nabbing a 32 out of 40 — but she was also singled out by judge Carrie Ann Inaba for the amazing cha cha she did with partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

“That was truly dancing with a star!” raved Inaba. “Your star quality came out…I’m like, “She’s a superstar!”

Inaba went on to call Normani “dazzling” and well as “strong, powerful and sexy.”  “Everything that everybody was trying to be tonight, you were all of that in that dance,” she concluded.

Normani, who had to fly off to China to join Fifth Harmony directly after last night’s show, said she felt “amazing” about her performance, but not for the reason you’d think.

“Honestly…not even me getting the highest score of the night, [but] just because I really love to focus on myself and be the best that I can possibly be, the fact that it’s a step up from last week shows improvement, which is something I need to keep doing,” she told ABC News backstage. “Consistency is key.”

Normani and the rest of Fifth Harmony will perform in China on Friday and in Taiwan on Saturday.  She’ll presumably fly back in time for next Monday night’s show, and then she has to go to the Philippines right after.  Phew!
