ABC/Image Group LAFollowing yesterday’s bombshell news, revealed in court documents, that Kesha told Lady Gaga that her producer Dr. Luke sexually assaulted Katy Perry, Luke’s team is now fighting back.

A statement from the hit-making producer’s legal team obtained by ABC Radio reads, “Katy Perry herself confirmed that Dr. Luke did not rape her. Kesha’s accusation to the contrary — just like her other outrageous lies about Dr. Luke — is baseless and irresponsible, and it is disrespectful to both Katy Perry and Dr. Luke.”

The statement concludes, “In his defamation lawsuit against Kesha, Dr. Luke seeks damages for the harm caused by these malicious falsehoods.”

As previously reported, the court filing by Luke’s lawyer states that after Kesha texted Gaga and told her that Luke raped Katy, the two singers then, “coordinated to post graphics on their Twitter and Instagram pages” that referred to the allegations.

Luke’s attorney also said in the filing that Gaga, “spread negative messages about” the producer “in the press and on social media,” with Kesha’s “encouragement.”

The attorney continued that Kesha made this false claim, “for the purpose of furthering her malicious plan to destroy [Dr. Luke’s] reputation and blacklist [him] from the music industry.”

The filing also confirmed that Katy was deposed, but it did not reveal the contents of her deposition. However, this latest statement seems to indicate that it was during the deposition that Katy denied Kesha’s claim.

In 2014, Kesha sued Dr. Luke, born Lukasz Gottwald, claiming he drugged and raped her. Gottwald has denied all the allegations and has sued Kesha for defamation.
