“It’s funny because when I first meet people, I wear sunglasses because I get anxiety, and then when I get comfortable, I take them off,” Anne-Marie tells ABC Radio.  “And I was like, waiting for when he was gonna take his off.  Like ‘Are we comfortable yet?’ But nah.”

In fact, Anne-Marie says she’s never seen Marshmello’s face in real life, and he didn’t ask her to call him by his real name, either.  Still, the British singer says she thinks he’s great.

“I think he’s a really incredible person, he’s very humble and very talented,” she says. “I just think all of the songs that he’s released this year…like, how he’s catered to the artists that he’s worked with, I think is really inspiring.”

From October 20 through November 9, Marshmello will be playing various clubs in Las Vegas.  He then travels overseas for some European dates, and in December, he’ll return to the U.S. for radio holiday shows.

Meanwhile, Anne-Marie, who’s spent the last few months opening for Ed Sheeran in North America, kicks off a tour of the U.K. November 19.
