Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records“Despacito” is holding tight to its number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

The Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee hit, featuring Justin Bieber, is now tied for the second-longest reign in history: it’s spent 14 weeks on top.

In the Hot 100’s more than 50-year history, the song is now one of only eight to have topped the chart for that length of time.  Those eight also include Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” and The Black Eyed Peas’ “I Got a Feeling.”

“Despacito” has now matched “Macarena” as the longest-reigning mostly non-English number one hit on the chart. Los Del Rio‘s “Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)” ruled for 14 weeks back in 1996.

“Despacito” still has yet to top Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day,” which is the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 hit of all time.  That track spent 16 weeks at number one.
