Cardi B to opens Monday night’s MTV VMAs: “Everything might happen”

Cardi B will give her first post-pregnancy performance on Monday night, when she opens the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City.

The “I Like it” rapper shared a screenshot on Instagram of MTV’s tweet promoting her appearance, with the caption, “Wanna party with Cardi??? @iamcardib will open the 2018@VMAs. You don’t wanna miss this. August 20th at 9 p on MTV #VMAS Everything might happen.”

Jorda FrantzisCardi B leads all artists with ten nominations. She is up for Artist of the Year and Best New Artist, and her “Finesse” remix with Bruno Mars received five nominations, including Video of the Year and Song of the Year.

In addition, her song “Bartier Cardi” featuring 21 Savage is up for Best Hip-Hop and Best Collaboration, and Cardi is also nominated in the Best Latin category for her “Dinero” collaboration with Jennifer Lopez and DJ Khaled.

After pulling out of the Bruno Mars 24K Magic tour to care for her baby, Kulture, Cardi will be one of the headliners for two upcoming festivals: the Global Citizen Festival September 29 in New York City, and the Mala Luna Festival, held October 27 and 28 in San Antonio, Texas.
