ABC/Image Group LAIn an Instagram Live video on Sunday, Cardi B hit back at people who are accusing her of splitting with her husband, Migos rapper Offset, for publicity, and people who claim the couple’s entire relationship was “fake.”

According to People, Cardi said, “I just really hate how people say we trying to do this for publicity,” and added that she’d never do that because “there’s a child involved.”

“Think we want to put our life out there for what — what we gain from publicity? Nothing,” she said.  She also had praise for her estranged husband.

“I learned a lot,” she said. “I ain’t really know much about the music industry and my husband helped me. He made me wiser. He let me open my eyes to a lot of things, and even though we are not together anymore, I learned a lot.”

In another clip from the session, posted by a fan, Cardi slammed haters for claiming that her relationship with Offset was a publicity grab.

“I been seeing a lot of people say that my relationship was fake,” she said. “There’s certain things called love. People do fall in love. Like, my relationship was never fake. I met this n*****, he was on my a**, I gave him a chance and we fell in love with each other.”

“Things was not always gravy ’cause at the end of the day we are two different people,” Cardi continued. “But we never did anything for publicity, b****. You think I got f****** pregnant, could have ruined my career for f****** publicity?”

For his part, Offset tweeted Sunday, “F*** YALL I MISS CARDI.”
