Anthony Anderson says he’s ready to get back to the big screen

ABC/Paula Lobo(LOS ANGELES) — Anthony Anderson is a busy man. In addition to his lead role as Andre Johnson on ABC’s black-ish, a show he also produces — as well as hosting ABC’s To Tell the Truth, and guest starring on other multiple shows, including Yara Shahidi’s spin-off collegiate comedy, grown-ish — Anderson says he hopes his future also includes a few movies.

“I’m excited to get back to the big screen,” Anderson tells ABC Radio. “Unfortunately, and fortunately, black-ish has kept kept me busy from doing that.”

Last year, Anderson starred alongside Octavia Spencer in the independent movie Small Town Crime. He also lent his voice to two animated films: the faith-based comedy The Star and the Golden Globes-nominated Ferdinand.

Now, the comedian — who has starred in a host of movies including The Departed for director Martin Scorsese — says he’s itching to get back into the film world, and is promising he’ll do his best to make it happen.

“…[W]e’ll make time eventually,” he adds.

Black-ish airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
