American Authors to release new album “Seasons” on February 1

Island RecordsAmerican Authors, the band who brought you “Best Day of My Life,” will return with their third album, Seasons, on February 1.

The band recorded the new album in a studio in Tennessee surrounded by woods; the title was inspired by the fact that during the recording sessions, they experienced all four seasons of weather.  As for the album’s sound, that was inspired by the ’90s bands they grew up with, like Weezer and Nirvana.

“I want people to see a different side of American Authors,” says front man Zac Barnett. “I hope they realize there’s a message of hope, but it’s transmitted in a new and more exciting way for our band.”

“Growing up, listening to my favorite artists helped me through so many hard times. It was the best therapy, he adds. “I’ve seen fans take that away from our music in the past, and I hope they continue to do so. That’s the ultimate goal for us.”

Starting January 11, American Authors will do a handful of shows in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston and New York, NY with The Revivalists.

So far, the band has released the songs “Deep Water,” “Say Amen” and “I Wanna Go Out” from the album.  They just dropped yet another track, “Neighborhood,” which is available now.

Here’s the tracklisting:

“I Wanna Go Out”
“Neighborhood” feat. Bear Rinehart of NEEDTOBREATHE
