Adele, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay and Justin Bieber were among the artists who raked in the dough last year, according to Billboard’s newly released list of the Top 50 Money Makers of 2016.
Bruce was ranked #3 on the list, taking in $42.2 million. That was mostly thanks to his massive 2016 tour: he earned over $40 million just from that. Adele came in at #5 with earnings of $37 million, thanks to her 25 World Tour, and nearly $5 million from sales of the album of the same name.
Coldplay was #6 with earnings of $32.3 million, with $26 million of that coming from touring their album A Head Full of Dreams. And Justin took in $30.5 million, thanks to $25.6 million in touring and millions in sales and streaming revenue.
Beyonce is #1 on the list, with earnings of $62.1 million. Guns ‘n Roses were, surprisingly, #2, thanks to a tour that grossed more than $42 million.
Other artists who topped up their bank accounts big-time last year include Drake, Billy Joel, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, Barbra Streisand and Maroon 5.
